Just a few days back, many aggrieved customers of the now defunct MENZGOLD company came out and had a press conference on the way forward on how to retrieve their locked up funds. One of the worrying things observed was a poster at the event which showed the obituaries of about nine people who per the message on the poster were customers of MENZGOLD that had died from complications related to the shock of the news of the collapse of the business.
People whose monies are locked up with failed fund management companies are being urged to file complaints with the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The Director General of the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC), the Reverend Daniel Ogbarmey-Tetteh, said those fund management companies, must not get away with any acts of dishonesty and misappropriation of investors money.
