Drivers of the Ghana ambulance service have over the years suffered from the activities of armed robbers. A 58 year old woman, Akua Saa has been arrested for allegedly slapping the Kyebi District police Commander, Chief Supretendant Magnus Reindorf Sam for preventing the arrest of his son, Frederick Sarkodie, and three others who were engaging in the act trading narcotics. The suspects namely Akua Saa, Margret 28, Kingsley Sarkodie,22, Vivian Saa ,33, Fiago Gilbert,38 and Frederick Sarkodie were arrested at Akyem Sagyimase in the Abuakwa South Municipality in the Eastern Region of Ghana during a swoop conducted by the police.

Two thousand, three hundred and eighty (2,380) people have been killed within a space of 10 months – January to October, this year, through road crashes. Twelve thousand, eight hundred and ninety-nine (12,899) others suffered cuts and broken bones. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Francis Aboagye Nyarko, Director General of the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), who gave the figures said during the period, there were a total of 13,244 road crashes and the number of vehicles involved stood at 33,408.
