Bank Of Ghana Issues Big Warning To Qwikloan Defaulters To Pay Their Debts Or Face Their Wrath
Today, the Bank of Ghana has released a warning note to individuals who have refused to pay back their Mobile Money debts. According to BoG, they stated that some individuals have deliberately declined to partake in the current sim card registration exercise because of the debts they have accumulated on their sim cards.

The Central Bank of Ghana has sent a straight message to debtors and defaulters of the known money lending firm called Qwikloan for failure to pay off their loans before the deadline pinned by the NIA for the deactivation of unregistered sim cards. It was indicated that failure to repay such loans will attract negative repercussions on borrowers' credit reports and could subsequently adversely affect any chance of obtaining loan facilities from other financial institutions and credit providers in future,” as stated in a statement by the Bank on Wednesday, September 28.

The directive from the Communications Ministry asking that all sim cards be registered with a Ghana card has led to the refusal by many MTN Qwikloan defaulters to pay their loans. Some of the defaulters have deliberately refused to register their Sim cards , some have thrown the Sim cards away with the thought that their details will not be traced if they did not use the Ghana card to register the sim cards as directed by the Ministry of Communication.
