Two young men who were caught stealing were subjected to public flogging by residence of a community in Bayelsa state, Nigeria. One of the men was caught while stealing plantain and he was said to be a second time offender, while the other one was said to have stole an mp3 player.

It is reported that the suspect, Okpegboro Avweresuo invited his deceased friend to his home in Sagbama for them to engage in motorcycle riding business since it was very lucrative in the town.
The student community in the University of Africa UAT, Toru Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, Nigeria have been thrown into mourning following the death of a student. According to information shared on Facebook by Azikiwe Godknows who is also a student of the institution and president of the National Union of Bayelsa State Students NUBBS in the institution, noted that the student was in 300 level from the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences and was said to be studying Computer Science.
A Nigerian who wanted to show his tremendous love for his fiancée did the unthinkable by stealing 10,000 Naira worth of plantains, but he was apprehended. Following his arrest, the young man admitted to stealing the plantains in order to sell them and pay for his girlfriend's makeup.

According to reputable sources, the tragedy occurred in Nigeria's Mile 2 Sagbama Town. The suspect, who is from Ughelli in Delta State in northern Nigeria, urged the deceased to come to Sagbama to start a motorcycle company (Okada), which was thriving due of a nearby educational institution.
