The Saglemi housing saga is still fresh on the minds of Ghanaians and one person who has decided to take the whole issue on is the outspoken television journalist, captain smart. Speaking live on Onua TV's maakye morning show, the controversial journalist decided to disect the whole issue into two aspects; the first one being the neglecting of the completed houses unoccupied due to the brouhaha surrounding it, and the second one he most concentrated on was those who were involved in the misappropriation of the funds meant for the project.
Captain Smart has once again hit out at the leaders of the country. Today, Monday, August 23, 2021, Captain Smart threw caution to the wind when he blasted the ruling New Patriotic Party for negligence. Captain Smart queried why the leaders of the country are heartless and inconsistent with their promises made to the people.
Captain Smart on his show this morning was fanstanstic. But his eagerness suddenly turned into a sad state as he recount how unknown persons chased his Boys when they went to Saglemi to capture the abandon affordable housing projects that are persihsing in the bush. It is a High time Authorities in Ghana will start to do something to help Ghanaians who are trying to do their best for the good of all citizens.
The Attorney General has sued the Former Minister of Works and Housing, Collins Dauda, for causing financial loss to the state particularly, the contract involving the Saglemi housing project. The CEO of Loud Silence Media, Kevin Ekow Baido Taylor, has applauded the AG and urged him to prosecute and jail Collins Dauda if he has misappropriated our resources.
Captain Smart this morning hit out at the deplorable state of housing in the country. He bemoaned how young people suffer when looking for houses to rent. According to him the government has paid little attention to this and this was getting out of hand. He queried why Ghana has Saglemi Housing units while young Ghanaians are forced to suffer when it comes to rent.
A new wave of demonstration beckons and this time the protestors are threatening to wage on government the fiercest demand to complete the abandoned Saglemi Housing project. An activist of pressure group #FixTheCountry, Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah says the younger generation will not allow such a national asset to be wasted because of bad leadership.
Captain Smart continues to wage a war against the abnormalities that has plagued the country. He has mounted a strong verbal attack on the government to fix the country. according to him the government has the means and knows what to do the solve the crises. He however bemoaned why successive government have failed to develop the country.
We elect people into position of authority and power to give us solutions, and not to give excuses.That is why it is obnoxious to hear government and its officials give reason and upon reasons for the neglect of a laudable housing project like the Saglemi affordable housing.
Ghana has a long to go, I ask for how long are we going to put a stop to partisan politics and adapt model for reactivating abandoned projects in this country, knowing very well that the projects aren't finance with pocket money of the preview goverment but rather taxpayers money.
The Deputy Youth Organizer of the NDC, Edem Agbana, has revealed that he cries for the future of this country every weekend whenever he travels to the Volta region and sees the Saglemi project rotting away.
