Madam Louisa Iris Arde after being rejected by the Jomoro district Assemblymen on last Friday's first Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) election has finally been approved by these same members of the assembly in today's MCE election. On the 8th of October, 2021, the Jomoro Municipal Assembly embarked on the MCE election to approve the nominated or appointed Municipal Chief Executive Louisa Iris Arde but unfortunately she didn't get the two-thirds of the total number of assembly members that voted.
The Jomoro Municipal Assembly and Constituency has never been ruled by two female government officials. What this means is that, the District and Constituency as well has never been ruled together by a female Municipal Chief Executive and a female Member of Parliament but the results from yesterday's MCE election has made this possible for the first time.
