The Kassana Bridge Located in the Sissala East Municipality have been washed away by heavy rains within the week, according to residents, this is the 2nd time in 2 years the development has occured, they stated that it happened twice in 2020 and twice in 2021 within the first quarter.

Resident of Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of Upper West Region have begun celebrating their first ever Paramount Chief who died in 1951. The Sissala Tribe is broad with cross sections within the Wa East District, Lambussie District and Sissala West District. Sissala East Occupies the largest portion of land in Upper West Region. The People of Sissala West were believed to have migrated from Burkuna Faso with others sharing ancestry with the Akans. They relate very well with the Gonja Tribe of Savannah

A community school located in the Sissala East Municipality of Upper West Region has been ripped off by rain leaving students stranded.Residents have since called on municipal chief executive of the area, Mr. Karim Nanyua to assist in getting the issue addressed in order for the students to return to the classroom for effective teaching and learning to continue.

Prison Wall Collapses in Upper West Region after Heavy Rain

A Building wall of the Ghana Prisons Service in Upper West Region of Ghana has collapsed after a heavy wind. The Rains accompanying a storm pushed the wall down early evening today Sunday 18th August 2020. No prisoners escaped according to information from the Prisons service. The Wall has since not been attended to as efforts are being made to contact the Building contractor based in Wa Municipality to attend to the latest development. The Paramount Chief of the Tumu traditional area, Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton IV has said the quality of roads in the Sissala East Municipality will be the determinant of their votes in the coming elections.
