One feared dead, several passengers injured in a gory accident on Tema Motorway
A gory accident occurred on the Tema Motorway today, September 1, before noon with several passengers, including babies sustaining injuries and one feared dead. A victim’s account indicated that the commercial vehicle was headed to Accra from Tema at a top speed. According to Yaw Osei, the passengers complained, but the driver ignored them.

The Government’s Spokesperson on Infrastructure, Kojo Frimpong disclosed the reconstruction of Tema Motorway that is commencing on December, 2021. Kojo Frimpong said, the ministry of roads and highways are ready to begin the project but it hasn't been approved by the parliament. He again said, if the parliament approves the decision to reconstruct the Tema Motorway, then they will serve a notice to the public.
The government has promised to expand the Tema Motorway in Accra five times.
The 19-kilometer roadway that connects Tema and Accra is in terrible condition since it is riddled with large potholes and the thousands of vehicles that use it every day have washed the road markings away. A trailer driver was found dead and the mate too in critical condition and is seeking for medical treatment at the hospital after the trailer swerved off the road and fell into a drain. They were driving from Tema and heading towards Accra but when they got to the motorway near the Adje Kojo underpass, the trailer skidded off the road and fell into a major storm drain.
