Transport Fares to go Down by 10% Effective Wednesday 17th May

Starting from Wednesday, May 17th, there will be a 10% decrease in transportation prices in Ghana. This decision was reached after a meeting between the Transport Ministry and transport operators. The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has agreed to enforce the fare reduction, which will apply to all modes of public transportation such as trotros, taxis, and buses.

GPRTU To Increase Transportation Fares On Monday, 24th October, 2022.

The Ghana Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has planned to increase fares on transportation starting Monday, October 24, 2022, and announced new fares for public transport. This plan to increase transportation fares is about the frequent increase in fuel prices at the fuel pump. Recently, the prices of Diesel and Petrol range from GH¢15 and GH¢13 respectively at major fuel pumps; this rapid increase in fuel prices is eating up the profit of those who sell fuels.
