The chief and people of Manwe traditional area in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region have expressed their displeasure over the actions of the joint security forces that invade the Manwe community on Thursday. The forces destroyed some properties that are said to belong to some residents who were suspected to be illegal miners.

A journalist in the Upper West Region has been remanded into police custody after he published a false report linking the recent death of two people in the Wa Municipality to a COVID-19 Vaccine administered to them. Mr. Tuorimuo Elvis Philip who owns news portal Upper West Media could not provide evidence linking the death of the two people to any COVID-19 Vaccine after he was invited and questioned by police and so was remanded into police custody.
A coalition of Past and Current Students of Piina Senior High School in the Lambussie District of the Upper West Region have accused the Headmaster of the school of demanding nudes and sex from female students in favour of preferential treatments. According to the concern students, the conduct of the headmaster has brought about indiscipline in the school as students especially those who have yielded to his sexual demands cannot be punished and so they go about misbehaving as the headmaster will reprimand any teacher who dare punish any such student.
The Headmaster of Piina SHS, Adams Mahama Issahaku Popularly, Okonkwo A group calling itself Concerned Youth comprising both past and current students of the Piina Senior High School at Lambussie in the Lambussie District of the Upper West Region has petitioned the Ghana Education Service regarding the conduct of the headmaster of the school.
The new IGP, Dr Akuffo Dampare has allocated 25 motorcycles to the Upper East Region Police. Checks with National Police Headquarters sources revealed that this was the first time in the history of the Police Service that a Police Administration has allocated such a relatively large consignment of motorcycles to the Upper East Region Police.

Police in the Upper West Region have shot dead a robbery suspect and arrested two others in connection with a robbery incident that happened in Wa West District where two victims were robbed of their belongings and stabbed as well. Suspect, Osman Seidu, was killed as he attacked residents at Poyentanga with a weapon.
According to health authorities, mosquitoes spread yellow fever from one person to another through bites. It is regarded as one of the worst diseases on the planet. Yellow fever ravaged Ghana for three years, from 1977 to 1980. During that time period, 827 cases were reported across the country, with 189 people succumbing to the sickness.
Twenty-five (25) people have died of yellow fever, as the disease outbreak, spreads from the Savannah Region to the Upper West Region. Eighteen (18) others are down with the fever and have been hospitalized - receiving treatment of the virus. The Ghana Health Service (GHS) had announced the outbreak of the disease on October 29, after eight people had been killed in the Gonja West Municipality, and the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The outbreak of the yellow fever disease in the Savannah and Upper West regions has claimed 25 lives, the Ghana Health Service has confirmed. The outbreak which was initially detected in the Savannah region, has now spread to the Wa East district in the Upper West region, two more persons died at the Wenchi Methodist hospital in the Bono Region.
The police department in the Upper West region of Ghana has today confirmed the arrest of two notorious armed robbers with the other shot dead after attempting to run away. According to the police, the two arrested persons in the Upper West Region have allegedly robbed and injured two victims during their operation.
