Ahead of the release of the 2022 BECE results, the management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, reopened its offices across the country after last year's Christmas break. The non-profit organization (WAEC), seen on AcademicWeek.com, in its 2022 season welcome announcement said offices will reopen after regular business hours on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.

After successfully taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Basic Education Certificate Examination, and Novdec/December this academic year, the West African Examination Board has taken the Christmas break. In a statement previewed by AcademicWeek.com, WAEC said over the Christmas holidays that its offices in Accra and other areas on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

WEAC postpones the publication date of school 2022 BECE results

Earlier announced to be released on 19th January 2023, the online release date of BECE Result 2022 for school and private candidates has been extended from 19th January to 21st January 2023. In discussions monitored by the Ministry of Education's AcademicWeek, Kwasi Kwarten said the West African Examinations Council has set a deadline of January 19 to January 21, 2023 for the release of BECE results.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of results for the 2021 edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). A total of 572,167 candidates made up of 287,730 males and 284,437 females sat for the examination. In a press release on February 28, the Council said the entire results of 46 candidates have been cancelled for the offence of either sending mobile phones into the examination hall or impersonation.

She explained that the WAEC's other four members — Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia — had returned to the May/June calendar this year and had administered the WASSCE for their school candidates from May 9 to June 24.
